If you want to create your own Landcover lcv files, you should take a sample .lcv tile from the SRTM and Landcover download site in USA for Radio Mobile: http://rmw.recordist.com/. Or see 'How to > Obtain Geodata > Land Cover (USA)'.
A .lcv tile contains a matrix of 3601x3601 bytes, aligned the same way as the data in a SRTM tile.
You must translate your data into the following types:
