set the mode of variability to broadcast, 90% of the time, 50% locations, 70% of situations.

Receiver unit

For the receiver create a system with a non directional antenna, 2.15 dBi (0 dBd) antenna gain and 9.1 m antenna height.  The received signal level will be the signal at the antenna connector, if you want the signal at the receiver input just set the line loss accordingly.  You can also change the antenna to a yagi with the desired gain.

Receiver sensitivity, planning targets.

-77 dBm for a cheap-o set top box. -85 dBm for a good one.

Try to get a 0.6 Fresnel or better. It'll greatly reduce your multipath issues (pausing, etc)
